T he ninth collection of the H&M Conscious Exclusive line has expanded its horizons for eco-friendly raw materials research and aims to have all of its materials from sustainable sources by 2030.

Apart from hemp and organic cotton (formerly used in past collections), H&M now features Piñatex leather pieces (an alternative to leather made from pineapple leaves celulose fibers which usually go to waste after the harvest), orange fiber (a silk-like fabric made from orange peels at the end of juice production) and BLOOM foam, made from seaweed biomass.

“It’s great to have the opportunity to work with all these beautiful materials that show that fashion and sustainability must go hand in hand,” says Ann-Sofie Johansson (H & M’s creative consultant) in a press release.
